Nine community-based organizations, youth organizations, and Sangguniang Kabataan Councils participated in the child protection flip chart roll-out orientation session on May 15, 2021, at Natures Village Resort, Talisay City.

In partnership with Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation and the Commission on Human Rights, NYLI Inc aims to reach at least 30 organizations in 3 provinces in Western Visayas to carry out child protection education initiatives.

Representatives from the Commission on Human Rights Region VI discussed the United Nations Convention of Rights of the Child and the functions of the Commission. Moreover, NYLI Inc capacitated the participants to carry out child protection education initiatives using the flipchart.

In 2020, the Commission on Human Rights – Child Right Center (CHR-CRC) and Consuelo Foundation collaborated to develop child protection flipchart translated into three significant languages – Bicolano, Ilocano, and Ilonggo. The collaboration aims to strengthen the education campaign on children’s rights by making these IEC materials accessible to children and families.

As youth and representatives, we are a vital part in fulfilling state obligation in protecting the rights of the child,” Sonny Estolloso, CHR Information Officer stated.

Part of the roll out initiative is to reach 20 more organizations and Sangguniang Kabataan councils in Panay.
