It is a shared goal of both Consuelo Foundation and NYLI to aid vulnerable communities, during this pandemic as the imposition of quarantine and lockdowns are, for now, existing. Moreover, the #CareBags initiative being funded by Consuelo Foundation is the wave two of the distribution process of NYLI, in partnership with the local Sangguniang Kabataang Councils of each city and municipality.

“On behalf of the Institute, I am grateful to Consuelo Foundation for believing in the capacity of the youth to address one of the most pressing issues today,” Kevin Gaitan, Executive Director of NYLI Inc shares, “reaching another 1, 000 families with food packs, hygiene kits, immuno-boosters, and IEC materials on Child Sexual Abuse Prevention will never be possible without the generosity of Consuelo Foundation, and NYLI Inc volunteers and supporters, ” he adds.

In addition, NYLI also reproduced printed bookmarks, raising awareness on Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Prevention in Hiligaynon,  and added more commodities, such as sanitary napkins for women, bihon, 30 vitamins C tablet, additional kilograms of rice, among others.

Notably, with the help of Bakyas Community Development Center Incorporated, NYLI Inc used the portion of the grant to purchase bulks of fruits and vegetables from local farmers in Don Salvador Benedicto and Calatrava which were also included in the distribution.

Recently, with the efforts of a number of volunteers, these carebags was repacked and distributed to those abovementioned areas. 1000 families were reached and given care – all due to Consuelo Foundation and Negrosanon Young Leaders Insitute Inc.
