The Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute, Inc. (NYLI) has been officially accredited by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC), affirming the institute’s compliance with nationally recognized standards of good governance, transparency, accountability, and effective nonprofit management.
Receiving the accreditation underscores the institute’s growing impact in empowering children, young people, and communities across Negros and beyond.
PCNC is the government’s designated accrediting body for non-government organizations and foundations. As the NGO sector’s self-regulatory mechanism, it evaluates organizations against rigorous standards in governance, financial management, legal compliance, and program effectiveness. PCNC accreditation is also a prerequisite for registration with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) as a qualified donee institution.
The three-year accreditation provides assurance to donors, development partners, government agencies, and the public that NYLI operates under recognized standards of responsible governance and stewardship. It also positions the institute to expand collaborations and attract greater investments for community-led initiatives that address the needs of underserved and marginalized communities.
For the children, young people, and communities that NYLI works with, the recognition means stronger and more sustainable programs, increased opportunities for partnerships, and greater confidence that resources entrusted to the organization are managed responsibly and translated into meaningful community impact.
Since its establishment, NYLI has partnered with youth organizations, schools, local government units, civil society organizations, and communities to empower young people as leaders and changemakers. Its initiatives have focused on advancing child protection, strengthening youth participation in governance, promoting climate resilience, supporting humanitarian action, improving mental health and well-being, and creating pathways for inclusive and sustainable development.
