The Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute (NYLI) has been recognized among the top-ranking proposals in the Emerging Climate Champions Award, a global initiative supporting youth-led organizations advancing climate solutions. NYLI is also featured on the official website of Lever for Change and is part of its Bold Solutions Network, a platform connecting promising organizations with potential funders and partners.
Launched by Enlight Foundation and The Patchwork Collective and managed by Lever for Change, the US$25 million initiative recognizes youth-led organizations with demonstrated results and strong potential to advance lasting climate solutions in their communities. NYLI’s inclusion among the top proposals highlights its work in strengthening community resilience and advancing locally led climate action in Negros Island.
Through initiatives such as Project REConnect, NYLI has supported access to renewable energy in three communities in Negros Occidental, installing a total of 16.44 kilowatts of solar photovoltaic capacity. The Institute continues to work with young people, community members, and local government partners to strengthen local capacity and develop solutions responsive to community needs.
Being featured by Lever for Change and included in the Bold Solutions Network gives NYLI greater visibility on a global platform and opens opportunities to build partnerships and mobilize resources for its climate initiatives.
As climate challenges continue to affect communities across the Philippines, NYLI remains committed to nurturing young leaders and working alongside communities to advance inclusive and sustainable climate solutions.
