NYLI Partners with DILG to Strengthen Open Governance Across 15 LGUs in NIR

Bacolod City — The Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute Inc. (NYLI) has been commissioned by the Department of the Interior and Local Government – Negros Island Region (DILG-NIR) to lead the documentation and monitoring of open government practices across 15 local government units (LGUs) in the region under the Philippine Open Government Partnership (PH-OGP) Localization Program.

Rooted in the values of transparency, accountability, and citizen participation, this collaboration seeks to highlight and strengthen how local governments practice open and participatory governance.

NYLI will work closely with LGUs and communities to document stories, programs, and innovations that reflect the spirit of inclusive governance and shared responsibility.

By engaging young leaders and local stakeholders in the process, NYLI hopes to amplify community voices and inspire more spaces for dialogue, trust, and collaboration between citizens and their local governments. The findings will serve as a learning resource to support the localization of OGP principles and build stronger, more transparent, and people-centered local governance systems.

This partnership reflects a shared belief that open government begins with open hearts—when citizens and institutions work hand in hand to create meaningful change. Through this initiative, NYLI continues to stand for participatory democracy, empowering Negrosanons to lead with integrity, accountability, and hope for a more inclusive future.
