NYLI Receives Recognition for Exemplary Role in Mt. Kanlaon Eruption Response

Bacolod City, Negros Occidental — The Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute Inc. (NYLI) was formally recognized by the City Government of Bago for its significant contribution to the emergency response efforts during the recent Mount Kanlaon volcanic eruption during the Pasidungog kag Pagkilala 2025 ceremony yesterday, July 17, 2025 at Nature’s Village Resort, Talisay City.

In collaboration with the Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation and Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, NYLI mobilized humanitarian aid to support families and individuals displaced by the volcanic activity. The recognition underscores the growing role of youth-led initiatives in disaster risk reduction and response.

As one of the youngest organizations honored at the event, NYLI’s acknowledgment highlights the impact of youth participation in strengthening community resilience. The institute’s timely and coordinated efforts empowered young people to play a critical role in delivering aid and support to affected communities.

The City Government of Bago, through its Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC), extended its gratitude to all partner organizations and individuals whose collective action was instrumental in responding to the crisis.
