NYLI Recognized as EcoLuminary for Advancing Clean and Sustainable Solutions in Negros

The Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute Inc. (NYLI), through its Climate Solutions Center, was recognized as one of the awardees at the 2025 EcoLuminaries: Abanse Negrense Environmental Awards held on October 29, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center, Bacolod City.

Conferred by the Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO) of Negros Occidental, the EcoLuminaries Awards recognizes local government units, organizations, and partners that have made significant contributions to the province’s environmental protection and sustainable resource management initiatives.

NYLI received a Plaque of Appreciation for its pioneering efforts in empowering communities to adopt clean and renewable energy solutions through the Climate Solutions Center. Currently, the center leads the organization’s climate-focused programs, including Project REConnect, which installs solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in off-grid schools and communities, and capacity-building initiatives that strengthen local resilience, circular food systems, and youth-led environmental advocacy. And the Sagup Food Circles initiative, which fosters zero food waste, circular food economies, and climate resilience among women and youth.

This recognition highlights the vital role of youth-led movements in addressing the climate crisis at the community level, demonstrating how innovation, collaboration, and local action can drive systemic change toward a just and sustainable future.

The Climate Solutions Center serves as NYLI’s platform for implementing and scaling climate initiatives that bridge the gap between policy and practice, empowering young leaders and grassroots communities to co-create solutions that reduce energy poverty, mitigate climate risks, and promote ecological balance across Negros.

As NYLI continues its mission, it remains steadfast in advancing the province’s collective vision of a greener and more resilient Negros. The organization shares this honor with its partners, volunteers, and communities who continuously work towards protecting the environment and sustaining life for generations to come.
